Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Intego for Its Unique Services in Mac Endpoint Security(March 07, 2011)
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/07/11 -- Based on its recent analysis of the Mac endpoint security market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Intego with the 2010 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Entrepreneurial Company of the Year.
Intego is solely focused on providing protection for the Mac user. Intego has offered Mac protection products since 1997 and has a portfolio tailored for consumers and businesses using Macs. Intego has over one million Mac customers using its security software that's offered in over 80 countries.
"The increase in the adoption of Apple products such as the iPhone and iPad has set an innovative trend of increased consumer interest in purchasing a Mac computer," says Frost & Sullivan research analyst Martha Vazquez. "As organizations introduce these devices into the network, the need for better security and management is causing concern for IT administrators."
The Apple store is a strong distribution channel for the company. Intego offers Dual Protection products for Mac users who also run Windows. Recently the company released VirusBarrier X6 which offers a family pack that protects up to 5 Macs and is priced at one of the lowest price points in the market. VirusBarrier X6 offers antivirus, anti-spyware, two-way firewall, anti-phishing, web threat protection and more.
For the enterprise market, Intego's VirusBarrier Server 3 offers network protection to Macs running as servers. In April 2010, the product was updated to include over a 100 new and improved features. Some of these features include remote GUI administration, remote management, two-way firewall, antivirus, e-mail server protection and more.
As a pioneer of the Mac endpoint security market, Intego has various products to help the novices and experts alike provide security for their Mac. Moreover, the company is quick to respond to product inquiries and concerns and offers solid support to its users globally.
"Intego clearly understands that the Mac market is growing, and providing additional protection for every machine is becoming increasingly more important," notes Vazquez. "Providing these products at a relatively lower cost will enable the company to penetrate the consumer and SMB market."
Intego CEO Laurent Marteau said, "I'm greatly honored that Frost & Sullivan has recognized Intego's importance as the leader in the Mac security market. Of the many awards and recognitions we have received over the years, we value this one especially as it comes from a third party whose analysis of the Mac security market is totally objective."
Frost & Sullivan presents the 2010 Global Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award to Intego. Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit by devising a strong growth strategy and robustly implementing it.
