From Our ProTools User Forum...
I just finished a big job on 9 separate blocks of programming for one 2-hour show. We are OMF'ing each block separately for the mix on ProTools We cut the show on an NT MC v.10.5 and are using ProTools on a G4 733MHz. We have the most current version of the OMF Tool (v.2) and the most current version of ProTools.
We tried to OMF the blocks as OMF V.2 with embedded media which is what the Avid in/out guidebook says to do if going to a mix. The first problem we encountered was that it said the file would exceed the 2GB file limit (we only have up to 10 tracks at about 8 mins. but all the tracks aren't completely full of media). So we consolidated the sequences to an empty NT partition and then made OMF2 documents with "link to media" as the option (also we didn't remove any dissolves from the sequences as the Avid book says they should transfer under the OMF2 version we are using.)
