Form.Z Updated to 4.1.1

New version corrects import/export issues By Dave Nagel
Auto.des.sys has updated its recently released FormZ 4.1, the company's 3D modeling application. The new 4.1.1 version includes enhancements to importing and exporting functionality and also corrects a number of issues found since the program's previous update. The company has also released an update for the 4.0 release of Form.Z, bring it to 4.0.5. Both are available now for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows.

Form.Z is a solid and surface modeler with a variety of 2D and 3D manipulation and sculpting capabilities. Version 4.0 was released Sept. 15 and included interface and performance improvements, as well as a new network renderer; new rendering modes, including a sketch renderer, point-cloud re-rendering and STEP translation; and 22 new modeling tools, such as lofting, new blending and filleting and additional parametric editing capabilities. The new version includes enhancements for importing and/or exporting EPS, BMP and 3ds files and also enables the Inverse Faces option in the Export Transformation dialog. It also includes fixes for modeling and imaging, as well as a few Macintosh-specific issues.


The company has also released an update for users of Form.Z 4.0.x who have not yet updated to version 4.1. The new 4.0.5 update addresses issues with modeling, drafting, imaging, interface and import/export, as well as some Macintosh-specific isses.
