Forerun Acquires EmergisoftCombination to Create a Leading Service Provider for Emergency Department Clinical Documentation and Information Needs (December 01, 2011)
BOSTON, MA and ARLINGTON, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 12/01/11 -- Emergisoft and Forerun, Inc., providers of clinical information management and workflow solutions for emergency departments, today announced that they have entered into an agreement pursuant to which Forerun has acquired substantially all of the assets of Emergisoft, including customer contracts, product rights, software and services, and other property rights of the Emergisoft business. The transaction is a strategic acquisition of complementary business in the emergency department information technology market.

The newly combined solution portfolio will include a comprehensive Emergency Department Information Solution (EDIS), Forerun's state-of-the-art ergonomically advanced ED physician documentation and workflow platform, FlexChart, and a Maritime Electronic Health record (EHR). "Forerun has enjoyed a great deal of early success with FlexChart, our flagship physician documentation product, and we look forward to leveraging that success to further enhance the physician documentation experience of the Emergisoft customers," added Wolfe.

Ken Wolfe will remain as the CEO of the combined company. Jordan Davis will assume responsibility of the company's commercial operation as the Vice President of Sales. Godson Menezes, CTO of Emergisoft, will join Forerun as Director of Operations reporting to Anthony Pilozzi, VP of Operations. The Emergisoft facility, located in Arlington, Texas, will remain operational as a regional development, operation and a customer support center while the corporate headquarters for the combined company will be located in Waltham, MA.
