Flamingo Features announces acquisition deal with Ultravox Japan

Flamingo Features has signed an exclusive acquisition deal with Ultravox Japan (July 01, 2009)

DMN Newswire--2009-7-1--Flamingo Features with its production offices located at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood, CA, has signed an exclusive multi-million dollar acquisition deal with Ultravox Japan.

The deal includes the acquisition of music catalogs, of both indie and alternative rock artists' and bands', exclusively for the territory of Japan. This comprises roles of seeking out established artists, as well as select new talent being approached and sought for commercial advertising development. This includes the use within A-list feature film soundtracks and additional varied mainstream uses.

Flamingo Features chairman, Attila von Somogyi, comments that 'the joint venture milestones include indie rock and indie alternative rock artists' and bands' to gain hyped exposure and revenue outside the standard channels.' With this, Flamingo Features will maintain and manage the rights, on behalf of Ultravox.


Flamingo Features' Gabriel Uribe, formerly of Handprint Entertainment, is the acquisitions director for this venture, with the ULTRAVOX Japan Chairman, Mr. Kazu Araki, heading the acquisition.


ABOUT KAZU ARAKI
Kazu Araki, producer of numerous international performance superstars, such as Tetsuya Komura, debuted into the music scene in the late 1970's as an alternative rock musician, then later establishing himself as one of Japan's most popular rock musicians alongside Junichi Inagaki.

Araki went on to become execute producer of Emotion Music (a Bandai company), then later joining BMG Victor (now BMG Japan) where he produced albums for such artists' as Inagaki, Hiroshi Mikami and Mika Kanno.

Soon after, Araki established a successful music production company alongside the Polydor Records Japan (now Universal Music Japan) Chairman, where he produced the works of Yutaka Ozaki and Bob Marley.

Other notable works include Billboard 80's CD; select albums with Sony Music and Columbia Entertainment; blockbuster A-list Japanese Film Soundtracks with Sony Music; and the Indy music show of Tokyo MX TV network.
