FirewireDirect Announces 2nd Generation ULTRA II FireWire Hard Drive

(August 02, 2001), Inchas unveiled its second generation FireWire hard drive storage solution. The new FirewireDirect SlimLine ULTRA II Series is an enhanced version of their ULTRA FireWire hard drives.

Newly redesigned in a blue chassis, the ULTRA II is still the highest performance line of FireWire hard drives available, once again featuring the 2nd generation Oxford 911 chipset. The new drive is enhanced not only in form factor, durability and appearance, but provides the highest performance FireWire storage features at a price point not previously approached by industry leading top-quality FireWire storage products.

The new series of FireWire drives will range from a 40GB HDD for $199 up to a huge capacity 80GB, 7200RPM drive available for only $359. FirewireDirect will offer RAID configured ULTRA II drives starting at $469.

With the introduction of the new ULTRA II, FirewireDirect now offers three major FireWire storage lines. In addition to the ULTRA II, they offer the SPARK II, there second generation portable 2.5" drive product, with both USB & FireWire connectors, as well as their popular and industry leading FireWire RAID systems.
