As a new Mac and Final Cut Studio user I have immersed myself with all the programs the suite has to offer. Learning Final Cut Pro 6 has been fast and surprisingly easy. I should say the basics are easy to learn. I have found out there is a whole host of useful, time saving features that will enhance even the greatest editor’s workflow.
Today I share with you fast and effective ways to add video to your timeline to edit. Yes I was one of those “click and drag your clips directly to the timeline” type of editors. In fact I did two features that way, and it worked just fine. It also added time dragging them into position, adding transitions, then moving them all to the right or left when I wanted to add or delete a shot. I want all that time back.
Fortunately, Final Cut Pro 6 offers extremely quick and simple ways to get your clips to the timeline fast and accurately. By learning a few simple techniques you will have time for more creative endeavors.
