Film Industry Veteran Andy Tennant Signs Commercial Relationship With Aspect-Level 7(October 26, 2001)
"First and foremost, Andy is an amazing creative resource," said Tim Tennant, Aspect's president and Andy Tennant's brother. "Marrying his unique talents with Aspect's broad range of advertising services just makes sense. This relationship strengthens Aspect's ability to deliver fresh and effective advertising concepts to its clients."
Coming from a bloodline of high-profile brand advertising, writing and directing commercials is a natural extension of Andy Tennant's portfolio. His father, Don Tennant, created brand icons like "Tony the Tiger," the "Pillsbury Doughboy," and the "Marlboro Man," as worldwide creative director for Leo Burnett. Andy's background enables him to creatively translate corporate and product messaging into identifiable, memorable consumer campaigns.
"Regardless of the medium, my primary job is to move the audience in some way," said Andy Tennant. "Aspect provides me with the resources, talent and bandwidth I need to create a truly entertaining experience."
Andy Tennant's ability to craft scripts that provide viewers both comedic and "slice of life" situations is evident in his portfolio of work. "The Wonder Years," "Fools Rush In" and "It Takes Two" illustrate his unique talent for connecting with an audience. Currently, Andy is directing "Sweet Home Alabama," a romantic comedy starring Reese Witherspoon.
For Aspect, Andy will provide creative input on Aspect's broad range of commercial production and advertising services. His recent work on Aspect's McDonald's and Quaker Oats campaigns illustrate his unique storytelling abilities. For McDonald's, he helped the fast-food giant brand itself as a place to strengthen the family bond through a series of four commercial spots. Due to the overwhelming success of the campaign, Andy and Aspect/Level 7 were contracted to create additional spots following the same family-centric theme.
Based on his work in the movie "Ever After," Quaker sought out Andy to infuse the same passion, comedy and imagery into a series of three spots shot outside of Paris, France. They convey a comedic, European tone and are currently airing throughout North America.
