Fiery X3e RIP Comes to Ricoh Color Printer

Optional Velocity workflow software also available By Dave Nagel
Ricoh has teamed up with Electronics for Imaging (EFI) to provide a Fiery X3e print controller in its AP3850C color printer. The printer provides 28 pages per minute output and is targeted toward professional printing environments, as well as corporate workgroups.

New features in the AP3850C include Secure Print, which is designed to let only authorized users print confidential documents, and "RIP-While-Print," which increases throughput on multi-page documents. It also includes PCL5c and a true Adobe PostScript 3.

The Ricoh AP3850C color printer includes a 700 MHz processor and EFI's print tools, such as Command WorkStation, Fiery NetWise and ColorWise. Optional features include Velocity workflow software to distribute large jobs over multiple printers. The AP3850C base model is available now for $6,795. For more information, visit
