Fast Forward Club to Debut VideoExpo in AtlantaVideo professionals from around the world expected to attend; all are invited (November 16, 2004)
At the end of January, video professionals from across and outside the U.S. will be celebrating a mid-winter break in the South as the Fast Forward Club presents its first VideoExpo, a three-day event that will be held at the Sheraton Atlanta Hotel in Atlanta, GA. from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, 2005.
The Fast Forward Club, launched in 2001 by Pittsburgh, PA-based Martin Video Productions, provides free online help, support, advice and more to video professionals around the world. To date, thousands have taken part in the club to interact on a regular basis with other video professionals, from full-timers to weekend warriors.
The event, which will feature new products, programs, seminars, activities, networking opportunities and more, is unique in that it is being developed based on input from club members, said Mike Martin, owner of Martin Video Productions, Fast Forward Club founder and president, and VideoExpo producer.
"As video professionals, we usually have a good time at the conventions and expos we attend, but often wish that we'd gotten more information relevant to our business -- especially if we invested significant dollars to attend," he said. "Our members' input, ideas and suggestions have shown us that there's a real need for an in-person gathering that provides information, support and cameraderie."
Strategically, said Martin, late January and early February is a great time for videographers to interact and learn about new products and techniques a few months before the busy spring wedding season begins.
A number of video products companies will be on hand at the VideoExpo, and a wide variety of speakers and topics will be offered. There will also be ample opportunity to network and socialize, beginning with a meet-and-mingle kickoff party on Sunday evening, Jan. 30.
According to Martin, dozens of club members have already indicated that they will take part. The event is open to anyone who wants to attend -- they need not be members of the fast Forward Club --and the $150 per person registration fee is the same for all attendees.
More information on the VideoExpo is available online at www.fastforwardclub.com. People and companies interested in attending and/or displaying at the event are asked to call Todd Mentecki at 724-448-6072.
