Family of 4 found dead at home in affluent NYC suburb; police call it apparent murder-suicide By The Associated Press

CROSS RIVER, N.Y. (AP) ' Police say a family of four has been found dead in their suburban home north of New York City

State police Maj. Michael Kopy says it appears to be a murder-suicide.

The victims were identified as Amy and Sam Friedlander and their children, 8-year-old Gregory and 10-year-old Molly.

The bodies were discovered in their Cross River home Tuesday afternoon.

The Lewisboro school district says the children attended the elementary school.

The Journal News cites a May 2000 wedding announcement in The New York Times that described Amy Friedlander as a vice president for Chase Manhattan Bank. The notice said her husband was an associate counsel of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners in Manhattan.

A neighbor tells WCBS-TV that the couple was getting a divorce.
