FOR-A IVS-100 Video Stabilizers Takes The Shale Out For Several Stations; Provide More Camera Options

(April 10, 2007)
DMN Newswire--2007-4-10--Several television stations have recently selected FOR-As IVS-100 video stabilizer to stabilize images from tower camera systems which capture live weather, traffic and beauty shots. All of the units were sold through Lamar Systems, a distributor and systems integrator for audio and video codecs and camera systems. Lamars IVS-100 customers include: KGUN - Tuson, Arizona; Global Television Networks - Burnaby, British Columbia; WRTV - Indianapolis, Indiana; WSLS - Roanoke, Virginia; Media General Television and the Journal Broadcast Group.

?FOR-As IVS-100 offers an affordable way to stabilize video, said Lamar Systems President, Chad Boss.  ?Previously, stations had to incorporate video stabilizers in a large lens, which is significantly more expensive.  The IVS-100 is small and cost effective, and its plug-and-play. The stabilizer integrates with the video switching system in the control room, and once set to the individual specifications, it never needs changing.  Any video can be switched to the stabilizer. This opens up applications beyond the tower camera systems for our customers, like shaky viewer-submitted videos which require picture stabilization.

Designed for a variety of applications, the IVS-100 electrically corrects video shaking that occurs in camera usage as well as unsteadiness on pre-recorded VCR tapes.  The IVS-100s compact size and functionality are ideal for field applications.

The tower camera systems used by Lamars clients are all subject to weather conditions, especially being buffeted by high winds.  ?Our customers report that the IVS-100 enables them to air cameras at locations that had previously been unusable, Boss explained.  ?It gives them more options, more views to show throughout a newscast.  Its proven to be a really good tool for our customers.

The IVS-100 is capable of real-time correction of unsteady images on live video or correction on pre-recorded tapes.  It can correct unsteadiness, while automatically recognizing panning and zooming and can correct up to 40% in vertical or horizontal directions in relation to the screen.  The IVS-100 provides sub-pixel level correction precision.

Its simple design works by connecting video cables without the aid of special connections.  It can be controlled remotely via the remote connector on the rear panel.
