FFV NDT 200 Recognized With TV Technology STAR Award at NAB2006Standard features of the NDT 200 include selectable compression ratios (May 15, 2006)
FFV, a recognized innovator of digital video recorder (DVR) technology for broadcast, industrial video, presentation, and military applications, came home from NAB2006 with a TV Technology STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) Award for its latest digital video recorder, the NDT 200. The handheld, portable NDT 200 was one of only 40 products chosen for the award.
The 2006 STAR Award from the editorial staff of TV Technology celebrates and showcases the preeminent technological innovations available to the broadcast industry, based on editor and columnists review of a variety of products, their technical applications, and their overall contribution to the industry.
The NDT 200 utilizes a removable 2.5-inch hard-disk drive for fast and flexible video management and a large display panel and touchpad for ease of operation. Its small form factor makes it an ideal drop-in replacement for tape-based recording devices, fitting into the same area as a video WalkmanŽ, which saves space while providing a standard, convenient, high-quality recording medium for portable applications.
With the NDT 200, all functions can be controlled via the DVRs intuitive touchpad user interface, large soft push buttons, and LCD panel on top of the unit, or from an external PC or VTR controller. Video clips can be recorded in QuickTimeŽ format for playback on a PC or Mac or as FFV secure video files and then downloaded to PC or Mac systems via the onboard USB 2.0 port or through the removal of the hard drive and the insertion of the drive into a suitably equipped PC or Mac.
Standard features of the NDT 200 include selectable compression ratios (from 4:1 to 30:1), dual-channel audio, time-dated stamp and character displays, time-lapse recording, loop and pre-event recording, and build and edit clip lists. External control is available through optional machine control software, and the recorder may be powered through an external low-DC-voltage input or by replaceable/rechargeable internal batteries.
