Extensis Intellihance Pro 4.1

Image and color correction plugin for Adobe Photoshop By Dave Nagel
There's no shortage of color correction tools on the market. Nevertheless, Extensis has again managed to distinguish itself--even in this crowded category--with a plugin for Adobe Photoshop that not only provides powerful color correction features, but also general image correction tools, all of which are at once deep, easy to use and understand and designed with the professional in mind. The plugin: Intellihance Pro 4.1.

Image and color enhancement
Intellihance Pro is a comprehensive color and image manipulation tool for Photoshop that includes not only automatic adjustments for a wide range of photographic problems, but also individual controls with semi-automatic and manual parameter adjustments. Opening up Intellihance Pro 4.1, you're presented with the default "Intelligent Adjustment" mode. This mode provides you with a simple preview window and access to the 25 individual preset adjustments, along with controls for adjusting individual parameters, in the likely event that the presets don't give you exactly what you want.

This preview, however, can also be expanded in Intellihance Pro 4 to show up to 25 of the presets at once, with individual preset controls at each window. The screen shot below shows this as small squares to accommodate our format here, but it can easily be expanded to show larger squares, up to the total area of your screen(s).

If you don't have a lot of screen real estate to work with, you can also show the various adjustments on a single image and use the Hand tool to move it around and view different part of your image in different squares. (You can even drag the squares themselves to swap out settings on the same area of the image.)

Intellihance includes 25 presets for a variety of image settings. They can be applied through the filter or accessed directly within Photoshop through the Extensis menu, which is added anytime you install Extensis plugins. It can also apply your "last used" settings, or you can create and save presets of your own for problems you might regularly encounter in your work.

The controls on the right of the interface are each presented with their own presets with simple to understand names for solving common image issues: descreening, dust and scratch removal, contrast, brightness, saturation, color cast, sharpness and despeckling, as well as a Paper & Ink function for working with CMYK and grayscale images.
