Extensis Announces Portfolio 7

Asset management tool gets direct burning capabilities, support for IPTC By Dave Nagel
Extensis has announced Portfolio 7, a new version of the company's digital asset management system. The new version gains a variety of new features, such as direct disc burning, and also adds IPTC support. It's expected to ship in April for Windows and May for Mac OS X.

Portfolio is a client tool for organizing, distributing and managing digital assets. The new 7.0 release includes streamlined features for importing, organizing and distributing digital images. It also includes built-in CD and DVD burning, batch conversion capabilities, the ability to embed IPTC metadata directly into image files, roundtrip metadata, enhanced view options, enhanced screen previews and contact sheet printing. The new version also offers an add-on module called NetPublish, which provides a wizard-based approach to automatic conversion of catalogs into Web pages.

Portfolio 7 will be available in April for Windows and May for Mac OS X for $199.95 with one NetPublish license. Additional licenses cost $199.95. Upgrades from Portfolio 4, 5 and 6 run $99.95 to $129.95. For more information, visit
