ROSWELL, Ga. (AP) ' An explosion has been reported at the home of a Georgia man who has long fought to keep chickens on his property, and emergency officials say they found a body in the residence.
WSB-TV reported that marshals were evicting Andrew Wordes, known as the "Chicken Man," on Monday when the explosion happened.
Roswell Fire Department spokesman Paul Piccirilli said firefighters found a body at the house but didn't confirm whether it was Wordes.
Wordes gained notoriety in 2009, when city officials cited him for raising poultry in his backyard. Supporters wore yellow T-shirts and "I Love Chickens" buttons to his court hearing. He was later sentenced to serve jail time late last year after authorities accused him of property code violations.
