Exclusive Eastwood-Engineered Versa-Cut Plasma Cutter Launched(March 07, 2011)
Pottstown, PA (PRWEB) March 7, 2011
The exclusive Eastwood engineered Versa-Cut Plasma Cutter, a portable, affordable and easy-to-use DIY power tool, was launched today by The Eastwood Company, innovators of automotive restoration tools.
The Eastwood Versa-Cut Plasma Cutter allows easy, clean cuts through steel, stainless steel and aluminum. This Plasma Cutter features voltage-sensing technology, which allows the hobbyist to plug into either a 110v or 220v outlet with the included adaptor cord, while using a minimum 15 Amp circuit at 50/60 hertz. The unit incorporates an internal moisture separator to ensure dry air is delivered to the torch. The torch hose measures 20' while the ground clamp measures 10'.
"The cutting abilities on this unit are endless," assured Mark Robidoux, creator of the Eastwood Versa-Cut Plasma Cutter and one of Eastwood's top restoration experts. "The at-home fabricator can make clean, fast cuts in metals as thin as 24 gauges and up to 3/8 inch thick material. The inverter technology offers superior arc stability and cutting power. The innovative Eastwood Versa-Cut Plasma Cutter uses any standard home- or shop-type air compressor within a range of 20-65 psi, at 3 cfm, depending on the metal thickness."
Eastwood's Research and Development team engineered, designed and tested this new tool in-house, on real-life projects, to ensure the production of a unit that is durable, reliable and compact. "Even with all its great features, the complete unit weighs less than 30 lbs, making it completely portable," Robidoux noted.
Proper safety precautions must be taken to protect the eyes, face and neck, as well as the rest of the body from flash burn, ultraviolet light, sparks and heat. This includes wearing personal protective equipment - a welding helmet with a dark face plate and heavy duty gloves.
Eastwood markets unique tools and supplies for repair, restoration, and modification of cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Founded in 1978, Eastwood constantly strives to develop new products to serve the home automotive hobbyist, as well as individuals and organizations focused on the restoration and preservation of automobiles and motorcycles.
