Exabyte Ships VXA-2 for Mac

FireWire tape backup system offers 80 GB storage By Dave Nagel
Exabyte has shipped VXA-2 with FireWire, a new version of its VXA-2 tape drive specifically designed for the Macintosh. VXA-2 with FireWire is an update to the company's VXA-1 tape backup system. It's being shown at the Macworld conference this week.

VXA-2 with FireWire provides a faster data transfer rate and larger capacity than the previous version and offers a native capacity of up to 80 GB and a compressed capacity of up to 160 GB. It also provides full read and write compatibility with the first-generation VXA-1 tape drive.


VXA-2 with FireWire supports Mac OS X 10.2.x and is available now for $1,693. For more information, visit http://www.exabyte.com.
