Europe's First FCPUG SuperMeet Coming to IBCTickets on sale now for event that will unite FCP users (August 12, 2008) Final Cut Pro user groups from around the world are planning to gather Sunday, September 14, 2008 in Amsterdam at the Culture Park Westergasfabriek, Gashouder as part of IBC 2008 week. This "SuperMeet" is expected to be the largest gathering of FCP users and digital filmmakers on the planet.
As of this writing the SuperMeet agenda will include presentations from Apple, Blackmagic Design, Adobe, Grass Valley/Thomson and filmmakers from around the world.
"This will be our first SuperMeet in Europe," said Michael Horton, co-producer of the event and head of the Los Angeles Final Cut Pro User Group. (LAFCPUG). "For the last seven years these events have played to sold out crowds at NAB in Las Vegas and Macworld in San Francisco. It¹s time to bring the SuperMeet to Europe."
"Michael and I have talked about this for a long time," added co-producer Daniel Berube who also heads the Boston Final Cut Pro User Group (BosFCPUG). "There are FCP User Groups around the world and Final Cut Pro is a world wide phenomenon. Why should the USA have all the fun? Europe deserves a SuperMeet."
In addition to the above agenda there will be more than a dozen vendors showing off their wares, some of whom will not be on the show floor at IBC. The SuperMeet will be the only place you will see them.
There will be food and cash bars and rounding out the evening will be a raffle with prizes totaling into the tens of thousands of dollars.
Doors will open at 5PM and the show will begin at 7PM. Tickets are on sale online only for Euro 10.00 each and this event is expected to sell out. Historically every SuperMeet for the past seven years has sold out.
