Euphonix R-1 Makes 'Moondance' Sparkle in New 5.1 Remix

(July 26, 2001)
The classic album 'Moondance' by legendary singer/songwriter Van Morrison is slated for release on DVD-A by Warner Bros. Records in an all new 5.1 remix accomplished with the Euphonix R-1 Digital Multi track Recorder. Chosen by producer/engineer Eliot Shiner for it's spectacular digital performance, the R-1 is capable of achieving three times the resolution of a conventional CD insuring the highest quality processing with 24-bit precision at a sampling rate of 96kHz.

The Euphonix R-1 is becoming increasingly popular for the production of material for release on DVD-A as well as digitally archiving the multi track contents of priceless original analog albums by converting them to high resolution 24-bit, 96 khz digital content and then creating AES31 files of the digitized material. The Euphonix AES31 TransferStation enables classics such as The Grateful Dead's 'American Beauty' and 'Working Man's Dead' to be archived as files and stored on a server or any high density storage technology. The PC based system permits the R-1's digitized multi track audio content to be converted easily and simply to AES31, a non-proprietary open format insuring future playback quality without concern for deteriorating tape stock.

Support for the AES31 standard is shared by a number of professional audio manufacturers with several more scheduled to make announcements at this year's fall Audio Engineering Society (AES) show in New York City.
