Euphonix Appoints Martin Kloiber as Executive VP of Technology(January 15, 2002)
With a degree in Music and Electronics, Kloiber has been working as an independent music producer and engineer since 1984, with a stint at Austrian broadcaster ORF as an engineer from 1989 to 1991. Kloiber has worked with many artists including Terence Trent D'Arby, Baka Boyz, 98 Degrees, Yello and Norman Brown. He has also been involved in film scoring, sound design and dubbing with credits including `Senseless', `The Lightmaker' and `Pokemon-the first Movie'. In 1992, Kloiber co-founded, designed and acted as studio manager and chief engineer for Soundproof Studios in Los Angeles. Soundproof is home to European music duo Yello and includes a Euphonix System 5 console and R-1 multi-track recorder.
Kloiber first became familiar with Euphonix in 1991 when Soundproof studios installed a Euphonix CSII mixing system. "I was looking for a console for the studio and heard about Euphonix from some musician friends." Kloiber commented. "This was the early days of the Company, but I was totally blown away by the power and sound of this digitally controlled analog mixer. Since then I have been a big fan. Soundproof upgraded to the new System 5 and R-1 digital systems in 1999. As a client, I spent a lot of time working with their product development and sales team helping to refine the systems, so it was natural for me to move to a full-time role."
Kloiber added, "I think it is very important for product development to have connections to the real world and that is my main goal, to provide a link between what we do in development, the client and other companies that have complimentary technology. I have experience in broadcasting, post and music and know a lot of industry people. I want to make sure that Euphonix spearheads digital technology and develops innovative products that set the standard in digital audio."
Euphonix also announced today that Mr. Steven Vining resigned his position as a Board Director of the Company in December 2001 to devote his full attention to a senior position in the music industry that is planned for announcement within the next few weeks.
Chris Pelzar has resigned to take the position of CEO for Fairlight's operations in North and South America. Mr. Pelzar was President of North American Sales for the Company.
Founded in 1988 in Silicon Valley, Euphonix is a leading manufacturer of large format digital consoles and digital peripherals for broadcast, post and music production.
