Epson Unveils New ScannersNew Perfection models include photo restoration software
The Perfection 3170 offers a 3,200 DPI resolution, for a maximum hardware resolution of 3,200 x 6,400 DPI using the Epson Micro Step Drive. It also offers 48-bit scanning 3.4 DMAX, along with several proprietary imaging technologies and photo restoration tools. It includes a built-in slide and film strip adapter, optional automatic document feeder, an improved Smart Panel and a software suite for Macintosh and Windows (Including Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 and Easy Photo Fix Technology for color restoration and dust and scratch removal). It supports paper sizes up to 8.5" x 11.7".
The Perfection 1670 offers a 1,600 DPI resolution, for a maximum hardware resolution of 1,600 x 3,200 DPI using the Epson Micro Step Drive. It also offers 48-bit scanning and provides a 3.1 dynamic range for transparencies. The 1670 includes ArcSoft PhotoImpression and Easy Photo Fix Technology for color restoration and dust and scratch removal. It supports paper sizes up to 8.5" x 11.7".
The Perfection 1670 will sell for $129. The 3170 will sell for $199. Both will be available in August for Mac OS 9, Mac OS X and Windows. For more information, visit http://www.epson.com.
