Epson Ships PowerLite 7850p Projector

Epson has started shipping a new model in its PowerLite line of digital projectors. The new PowerLite 7850p projector is a portable unit (12.8 pounds), offering a variety of networking, wireless and computer-free presentation options. It's available now.

The PowerLite 7850p offers native XGA resolution (1,024 x 768), 3,500 ANSI lumens of brightness (with 90 percent brightness uniformity) and a contrast ratio of 700:1. It includes horizontal and vertical keystone correction; 33 dB to 36 dB operation; wireless (802.11b) and wired networking; and an EasyMP feature for viewing presentations directly from a PCMCIA device, along with the ability to save presentations to the same device. It also includes various administration and security features, such as password protection, e-mail notification, etc.

For connectors, the 7850p includes BNC, Mini D-sub (for analog RGB and component), DVI-D, S-video, composite video and stereo mini jack in, as well as monitor out (Mini D-sub) and stereo out. The PC Card slot supports PCMCIA Type I and II, and the unit also includes USB and serial connections.
