Epson Rolls Out Photo PrintersR300 and R300M offer direct CD/DVD printing capabilities
The two new printers are nearly identical in features, though the R300M adds a 2.5-inch color preview monitor to review and select images for printing without the assistance of a computer. They offer a print resolution of 5,760 x 1,440 with a six-color photo ink system (using individual ink cartridges) and support border-free printing up to 8.5" x 11", including panoramic images. And both support printing on inkjet-printable CD and DVD media.
Both of the new printers come equipped with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 interfaces for printing from workstations or peripherals and also support printing from their built-in memory slots, which support CompactFlash Type I and II, MultiMediaCard, IBM Microdrive, xD-Picture Card, Sony Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, Memory Stick Duo, MagicGate Memory Stick, SmartMedia and Secure Digital. They also include a control panel for selecting paper types, number of copies, layouts, manual adjustments, filters and frames without the need for a computer, plus the ability to save favorite settings. Other features include support for Print Image Matching and an optional Bluetooth adapter for wireless printing.
