According to Eovia, Amapi 7 has been completely rewritten and given a revamped interface. Amapi Designer 7, which will be released first, is the direct successor to Amapi 3D 6, offering the features of the previous version, as well as new modeling tools. It's targeted toward 3D artists, designers and architects. New features in version 7 will include:
- New real-time 3D display engines;
- Customizable interface;
- Workspace controls;
- Dynamic geometry for unlimited editing of all object construction parameters;
- Object instance and clone modeling;
- Dynamic symmetry modeling;
- Improvements to all modeling and construction tools;
- Direct modeling on any surface plane;
- Import and export to Carrara Studio 2;
- Support for all major 3D file formats.
Few details about Amapi Pro 7 are available now. Eovia says it will be like "Amapi Designer 7 on steroids" and will offer, in addition to the features of Amapi Designer 7, NURBS surface modeling tools, including surface blending, trimmed surfaces, NURBS offset and fillset, multi-hull surfaces and expanded IGES support.
