Eovia Releases Amapi 3D 6.1, webXport for Carrara Studio

New Amapi supports Flash, Shockwave 3D By Dave Nagel
Eovia has released an update to its line of 3D products, as well as a VET extension for exporting content for the Web within Carrara Studio.

Eovia's Amapi 3D has received an update to 6.1. With Amapi 3D 6.1, professional modelers, graphic designers and web producers can convert 3D surfaces and scenes to the Flash format. Flash animations generated by Amapi 3D 6.1 can be opened in the Macromedia Flash 5 authoring application for further enhancement. Amapi also gets a Shockwave3D exporter for creating 3D objects and scenes for use in Macromedia Director 8.5.

Amapi 3D 6.1 also can publish to its own 3Space Web 3D format, allowing for physical behaviors found in 3D game engines, including animated particles, explosions, gravity and realistic collisions.

The company has also released a new plugin for its Carrara Studio product. Carrara Studio is Eovia's version of the application of the same name formerly owned by Metacreations. The product is now at version 1.1. The new plugin, called webXport, allows users to publish 3D content in the Viewpoint Experience Technology (VET) format. The plugin is a free download from Eovia's site.

Amapi 3D 6.1 for Macintosh and Windows is now available for $399. Carrara 1.1, Carrara Studio, Ray Dream and Infini-D owners can crossgrade for $199. Registered users of Amapi 3D 6.0 can download the free 6.1 update at 5the company's Web site. For more information, visit http://www.eovia.com.
