Entertainment and Media Forum To Be Held in MiamiEvent to focus on convergence (July 07, 2004)
Entertainment and media executives will gather in Miami, Florida, October 20-21, to examine new opportunities and challenges brought about by technological advances. The Entertainment and Media Forum will focus on convergence in the film, television, music, gaming, digital media and advertising industries.
The proliferation of high-speed and wireless Internet access, increased use of digital content, and advances that allow TV sets to function more like computers are among the changes impacting the entertainment and media business. "These and other advances have huge implications for media companies because they affect the way content is created, distributed and consumed," said the Forum's organizer, Dan Lamey of MFM Group, Inc. "The convergence of media and technology is also driving convergence among industry players, including mergers and strategic partnerships like NBC-Universal, Viacom-CBS and Sony-BMG."
Forum speakers will explain how innovative companies are taking advantage of digital media and delivery to generate new revenue from existing products, and create new products that can be accessed from different media vehicles. Topics will include digital asset and content management, licensing and piracy issues, broadband and advertising, product placement and merchandising, strategic alliances and partnerships, marketing strategies for digital services, interactive entertainment and gaming, and subscription and video-on-demand strategies.
Forum registration is open to entertainment, media and advertising executives from the U.S., Canada, Europe and Latin America. Details and registration information can be found at www.trademeetings.com or by calling Francois Fournier, at 1-866-636-7350 (toll free in the U.S. and Canada) or 1-305-667-4705.
