Emagic Debuts Bundles at NAMM

Four collections include vintage, synths, production kit and TDM libraries By Dave Nagel
Emagic has debuted four new software bundles at the NAMM convention in Anaheim, Calif. The company has also introduced Logic Audio version 6 (covered in a separate story). The new collections cover vintage instruments, synths, the 6|2m Gold Production Kit and the TDM Collection.

The new Vintage Collection includes the EVP88, the EVD6 and the EVB3. EVP88 is a vintage piano that replicates Fender Rhodes, Wurlitzer and Hohner electric pianos with an effects section. The EVD6 is a Hohner D6 Clavinet emulator. And the EVB3 is a Hammond B3 emulator. The bundle will ship in February for Mac OS and will require Logic Platinum 5.5 or higher.

The Synth Collection includes three software synthesizers, including the EVOC20, ES1 and ES2. The EVOC20 is a 20-band polyphonic vocoder with sound design tools like a formant filter bank and pitch tracking. The ES1 and ES2 are 16- and 32-voice synthesizers, respectively.

The EMI 6|2m Gold Production Kit is a hardware and software bundle that includes the EMI 6|2m USB hub/MIDI interface, Logic Gold 5 recording software and the EVB3, EVP88, EXSP24 and Xtreme Digital Sample Library. It will be available in February.

Finally, the TDM Collection includes the ESB TDM, Host TDM Enabler and PTHD Extension. PTHD Extension allows for sampling rates up to 192 kHz, as well as increased track support and increased I/O capabilities. The ESB TDM is a link between DSP and CDU processors. It allows native audio tracks and Logic and VST plugins to be routed through Logic's TDM Mixer. The Host TDM Enabler allows users to insert software instruments like the ES1, ES2, EVP88, EVB3 and EVD6 into aux channels of the TDM mixer. This collection will also be available in February for Macintosh.

Emagic has not set pricing yet but does imply a discounted, "special price" on the collections. For more information, visit http://www.emagic.de.
