Elemental Audio Intros New Mac-Based Audio EQsAlso releases free downloadable audio analysis application
Eqium is a plug-in for use with VST-compatible hosts on Macintosh 9 and OSX platforms. The company says Eqium creates bands and filters "on- the-fly," meaning EQ is not limited by a predetermined number of bands. Eqium is designed to allow users to go from a 2-band EQ to a 20 or more bands seamlessly. The number of filters and bands available is limited only by the computer's resources.
Eqium's filter selection ranges from traditional high/low shelf to harmonic parametric and steep notch, with a total of 11 types available. Filters may be adjusted using sliders, arrows, or by dragging directly on the large filter graph. Eqium only uses processing power for active filters and filters may be activated or deactivated at will.
It is available for an introductory price of US $99 alone or US $129 bundled with Elemental Audio Systems' linear phase EQ, Firium. Eqium's regular retail price is US $129 alone, or US $169 bundled with Firium.
The second new product, Firium, is a paragraphic EQ crossed with a drawing program, which Elemental Audio says is the only linear phase equalizer plug-in that allows users to draw their entire EQ curve freehand. It is also one of the first professional MacOS X compatible plug-ins and may be used with VST-compatible hosts in MacOS 9 and X. For a limited time, Firium is available for US $99 alone and US $129 bundled with Elemental Audio Systems' unlimited bands equalizer, Eqium. Firium regularly retails for US $129; the bundle, for US $169.
The third new product is Inspector, a full-featured analysis plug-in that has an alarm function that alerts users to adverse conditions in their audio. Inspector is currently available for VST compatible hosts on Macintosh 9 and X platforms and is free for a limited time. The download address is http://www.elementalaudio.com/products/inspector/download.
Inspector's integrated spectral analysis, metering and real-time numeric readouts alert users to various conditions such as clipping incidents, headroom and balance. When user-specified thresholds for these parameters are crossed, Inspector's Master Alarm is triggered.
