Edirol Releases Mac OS X Drivers for USB Audio InterfacesCompany also ships 10-channel mixer, desktop reference monitor
With this announcement, all of Edirol's 19 USB audio and MIDI interfaces make their way to Mac OS X. This includes compatibility with Apple's CoreAudio and CoreMIDI, optimization for Mac OS X 10.2 and dual-processor support. The new version 1.0 drivers offer customizable buffer settings in System Preferences and adjustable recording and playback latency.
Edirol has also released a new 10-channel, 24-bit mixer with a number of audio and voice effects plus a stereo USB audio interface. The mixer--the M-100FX--is targeted toward videographers and small studios and includes XLR/TRS combo connectors with Phantom power, RCA, S/PDIF optical and coax, aux sends and returns and separate monitor, master and headphone output. It sells for $495.
The company's new reference monitor--the MA-20D--is a desktop speaker with two-way bass-reflex enclosures, front control knobs and independent source volume controls. It's equipped with an internal 20-Watt amplifier and is magnetically shielded for placement close to computer equipment. The monitors sell for $295.
