ENCO Systems Intros Content Adaptive ProcessingFor Omnia Audio Processors in DAD Version 5 (December 28, 2005)
ENCO Systems Inc., a leading worldwide provider of Digital Audio Delivery Systems, today introduced CAP, a content adaptive processing option for their DAD Digital Audio Delivery System. CAP enables program directors to automatically adjust their Omnia audio processor settings to match program needs. Audio processing characteristics can be grouped in DADs library so that when a particular class of music, voice track, commercial or other classification appears in the on-air play list, pre-sets are made in real-time to Omnia processor settings.
CAP allows program directors to match their audio processing automatically, without manual intervention, ensuring the consistent desired sound for their programming. CAP eliminates compromises to audio quality introduced by accepting a single audio processor setting across an entire broadcast of varied content. Radio is constantly dealing with processed audio that can vary greatly based on style, age, compression or genre. These variations can now be accounted for in an automated fashion, producing a more consistent listening experience.
Gene Novacek, president of ENCO says: ?CAP addresses our customers need to dial-in their station sound without constant monitoring and manipulation. This is particularly valuable as many of our customers adopt wide ranging formats and greater automation. The evolution of HD Radio will also generate new requirements for audio processing and CAP will simplify the application of multiple processor settings in support of HD.
"Omnia is proud to team with ENCO on CAP. This will allow our mutual clients even more control when it comes to maintaining their station's signature sound through the specific processing of individual, often challenging, source material items." says Omnia Audio president Frank Foti. ENCOs patent pending CAP option is available now in DAD Version 5.0. CAP supports IP connected Omnia 3, Omnia 5 and Omnia 6 series audio processors.
