EM&I Announces Two Federal Contract WinsU.S. Army's Capability Architecture Development and Integration Environment (CADIE) and the Deputy Chief Management Office (DCMO) Have Licensed EM&I's ACART(R) Solution (May 30, 2012)
HERNDON, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/30/12 -- EM&I today announced that the U.S. Army's Capability Architecture Development and Integration Environment (CADIE) and the Office of the Deputy Chief Management Office (DCMO) have licensed EM&I's ACART® solution to track their systems compliance against a variety of laws, regulations and policies.
ACART® is a web application that can be configured with modules to help an organization evaluate systems against requirements and provide insight and analysis into their compliance.
CADIE has renewed the license for EM&I's ACART® Deluxe on a licensed basis to support the Army Office of Business Transformation. The terms of the agreement provide for a one year enterprise license of the following:
- ACART® Compliance module, including standard report and dashboard modules.
- The Discovery and System Analysis module.
- ACART® Federation Module.
- Four containers (databases).
With these tools, CADIE continues to support the Army's Office of Business Transformation as it further develops the Army Federated Enterprise Architecture -- the blueprint to guide future system developments.
DCMO has exercised a contract option for EM&I to license the patented, web-based ACART® Accelerator for Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA) compliance on a Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise wide basis. ACART® provides DoD military service and component IT program managers with an automated tool for assessing systems compliance against the applicable artifacts, such as data standards, business rules, laws, regulations, and policies (LRPs) defined in the BEA. Since 2006, ACART® has been the premier tool used by DoD to assert compliance to the BEA.
EM&I will also provide the DCMO with services to provide requirements upgrade and issue response, as well as database modifications and ACART® User Administration.
"The renewals from CADIE and DCMO further solidifies ACART® as a standard for systems compliance tracking in the DoD," stated James Fitzwilliam, president of EM&I. "As programs throughout the federal government use ACART® to track compliance against requirements, not only will they know they're installing systems in line with DoD's rules, they'll also be moving forward toward a more comprehensive enterprise architecture that will ultimately better serve the DoD and its personnel."
According to the March 2007 Congressional Report, "ACART® works as an intelligent 'wizard-like' application that significantly reduces the time-intensive activity of manually sorting and analyzing complex and interdependent architecture and federal regulatory requirements."
ACART® enables users to assess, filter and federate a vast numbers of enterprise requirements, laws, regulations and policies. The requirements might include overarching architectures, acquisition regulations, internal checklists and performance requirements, depending upon the application. The requirements tracked by ACART® include all of the major regulatory hot buttons such as: OMB 300, Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act (FMFIA), Federal Financial Management Improvement Act (FFMIA), Inspector General (IG) Act, Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), Government Performance Results Act (GPRA), Clinger-Cohen, OMB Circular A-123, Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 5000, Improper Payments Information Act (IPIA) and the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Act.
ACART® delivers multiple benefits for users, including: helping them determine their compliance status; providing guidance to achieve compliance; and helping evaluate potential systems under consideration to ensure they comply with applicable regulations.
