EMART Energy 2012 opening session features the European energy transition
EFET and CEOs of large energy traders to discuss pressing issues (October 30, 2012)According to Nel Jonk, the EMART Energy programme director, the European energy market is undergoing huge changes and is rapidly developing new rules. She continues: ?with the nuclear exits in Germany and renewables becoming bigger, we have to look into the question how they can be integrated in the wholesale market. And which other types of plant will underpin baseload supply in the future and whether there will be a larger role for gas.?
She explains furthermore that the industry is still very concerned about financial regulatory and market supervisory burdens, which last year?s EMART Energy delegates indicated as being the biggest threat to the health of the wholesale power market.
