EFI To Show OS X-Based RIPCompany also intros Q4000 Fiery server
Few details of the Splash G640 were available at press time. The server is targeted toward graphic arts professionals and is designed for short runs, supporting applications like QuarkXPress and Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
The Fiery Q4000 server is also being demonstrated at next week's expo. EFI calls the server its fastest and most feature-packed. It runs on the Fiery System 5 and includes the Graphic Arts Package and open variable data printing features. EFI's variable data platform includes support for PPML, legacy VDP languages, EFI's Fiery FreeForm technology and Fiery-optimized versions of PageFlex Persona and Atlas PrintShop Mail.
Also in the lineup is EFI's Velocity OneFlow system, a PDF-based pre-print workflow system for small and mid-sized print shops. It provides workflow automation for offset and digital printing with tools for preflighting, imposition, trapping, RIP and proofing, as well as color management.
