Dymo DiscPainterInexpensive solution for printing on CD/DVDs
Dymo DiscPainter is a departure from other CD/DVD disc printing solutions in that the DiscPainter specializes on CD/DVD media. It is dedicated to printing on CD/DVD media and case templates and nothing else. With that said, it makes a lot of sense to have such a dedicated device especially if you are adept at offering more than just a CD or DVD with Sharpie writing on it, telling you what is on the disc.
The DiscPainter comes with the printer, driver and software, AC adapter, USB cable, as well as some water-proof inkjet printable media. Setting up the DiscPainter involves following closely the directions that come on the included fold out poster. The most important part of the installation process involves following the onscreen directions not to plug the printer's USB cable until the software installation prompts you to do so. Other than this, installation of the drivers and software is straightforward. Dymo DiscPainter works with both Macintosh and Windows based systems.
Once the software is installed, you can launch DiscPainter Discus and go about designing your disc, by choosing a layout. From here you can choose the type of jewel case you will print to as well as CD/DVD, the jewel case base, folding booklet, Box Wrap, Jewel case lid, slimline inserts, and even mini CD. After you've chosen the type, you choose the layout. Your layout options cover the popular options. You can work with a variety of Avery, CD Stomper, Memorex, and Dymo DiscPainter templates.
|The DiscPainter prints at up to 1200dpi|
|The software offers a variety of pre built disc templates to choose from|
Once you've chosen your layout, you can proceed to add elements to it, including text, symbols, images, canvas, etc. After you've completed your layout, you can choose to print. The Print menu offers a host of parameters that you can tweak. The DiscPainter software enables you to choose how many discs you wish to print. After it finishes a print job, you just need to remove the finished disc and add another until your job is finished. You can choose three settings in which to print; Draft, Normal and Best. The DiscPainter can print to matte inkjet printable discs, glossy, and Color 8-9 inkjet printable discs with silver or colored finish.
