Drumbi Participates in StartUp Alley at Techcrunch's Disrupt 2011(September 12, 2011)
(PRWEB) September 12, 2011
Drumbi, Inc. announced today that it would be unveiling its eponymous iPhone app at TechCrunchs Disrupt conference on Monday, September 12, 2011.
Drumbis mission to improve and reinvent smart-phone based communications will be exhibited through its most recent brainchild for the iPhone, otherwise known as Drumbi. Drumbi was built on the premise that phone calls need to be smarter and much more efficient than they currently are. With Drumbi, youll be able to tell your contacts the purpose of your call, from where you are making your call to the urgency of your call.
Drumbi provides the context to the situation, thereby allowing recipients of calls to have more control over the calls they accept. Once the conservation concludes, both users can capture the main points of the call via a personal email, an SMS, or Facebook.
Disrupt is a gathering of technology enthusiasts who have set out to create disruptive changes to existing foundations and inventions. More importantly, it gives a young startup the chance to be exposed to resources and connections that would otherwise be out of reach. Shervin Talieh, co-founder and CEO of Drumbi, put it this way: Disrupt is to startups what the Sundance festival is to indie film directors. You want to be side-by-side learning from the crème de le crème of tech, while giving your peers the opportunity to get to know you.
We are excited to showcase our iPhone app that utilizes our advanced platform technology at Disrupt, said Farsheed Atef, co-founder and CTO of Drumbi. Drumbi will receive face time at the Startup Alley and also plan to open their technology to developers and businesses of any size for utilization and implementation. Both Shervin and Farsheed agree that there is simply no better way to publicly launch a product or company in the technology space."
While the company is initially focused on improving consumer-to-consumer communications, it has a much larger vision to facilitate and improve all calls including phone calls to businesses. The most significant innovation to voice-calls over the past 20 years was caller I.D., stated Talieh. There is an opportunity to completely rethink the dated, existing conventions pertaining to the phone. The Drumbi platform will dramatically change and improve how all calls are made and received.
Drumbi is reinventing the phone call by embracing the unique capabilities of smart-phones and the pervasiveness of Facebook, Twitter and other forms of social communications. Through a free iPhone and Android application, callers are able to add context, such as urgency, location, and a topic to their voice communications. Post-call features will include sharing through SMS, email, Facebook and Twitter. By orchestrating asynchronous and synchronous communications through a single application and experience, Drumbi delivers an intuitive and modern alternative to the traditional voice-call.
