NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 05/08/12 -- Doodle.ly, the social sketchpad for creative self-expression, announced today the launch of its newest social features including Like, Most Popular, and the ability to receive "push" notifications when someone else Likes your doodle. The new features allow doodlers of all interests and skill levels to more broadly share their creations and see who is a fan of their work. Doodle.ly enables people to create hand drawn art, sketches, notes, and doodles from a computer or iPad and to share their work instantly within the Doodle.ly community and through social platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. The app is free of charge and offers many different styles of digital drawing instruments including pens, highlighters and pencils to inspire and unleash people's creativity. Doodle.ly is available today for download at the iTunes store.
"We created Doodle.ly to give people a platform to share their hand drawn ideas, sketches, passions and notes across the web in a fun and intuitive way," said co-founder Evan Vogel. "Already doodlers from every skill level have built the foundation of a vibrant community, sharing drawings from events in the news, sports and other moments in popular culture. Doodles can provoke, inspire and entertain; we believe our new and future social features will accelerate the growth of our community of fans and inspire even more doodling worldwide."
"We're thrilled with early adoption by doodlers who express themselves several times a day and are sharing their doodles with friends through social media," said co-founder Darren Paul. "National sports franchises like the New Jersey Devils and Minnesota Timberwolves and entertainment properties are already developing creative campaigns with Doodle.ly that engage their fans to create and share their passion in a way that no other social platform can offer."
In the coming weeks Doodle.ly will give users the ability to create their own personal profile and while also adding the familiar "follow" feature so that fans of any doodler can be alerted when they produce new work.
