Documents: Ohio 'pill mill' was corrupt drug denAlleged 'pill mill' in Ohio was corrupt drug den where owner wore a handgun, documents say
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) ' Records show that the last alleged pill mill in an Ohio county hit hard by drug addiction was a perpetually busy drug house where tens of thousands of painkillers were dispensed in just a few months.
The records obtained by The Associated Press found that drugs were dispensed to convicted drug dealers and addicts and at high dosages.
One patient was prescribed painkillers even after she was caught faking a urine test, while others paid a doctor to increase their prescriptions. The clinic owner often wore a handgun.
The documents show the doctor told an investigator he knew what he was doing was wrong but needed the job.
Authorities have charged four people with corrupt activity and drug counts after shutting down Greater Medical Advance in Wheelersburg this week.
