DocLanding Rolls Out Sync Feature(December 05, 2011)
Omaha, NE (PRWEB) December 05, 2011
DocLanding, an Omaha-based company that specializes in cloud-based digital content storage, today announced the roll out of DocLanding Sync, a feature that allows users to easily save changes from any computer and automatically creates multiple versions of synced files.
DocLanding CEO Timothy Campbell said Sync ends the need for using USB drives or email to move files between computers, and the versioning feature makes it easy to keep track of changes and revert back to an older version of the document if needed. Sync, he said, is especially important for industries that deal with sensitive files like legal and health documents.
"Because DocLanding provides encrypted storage on a U.S.-based private cloud, users can now securely move and access files between their computers at home and at work and even their iPhone," DocLanding CEO Timothy Campbell said. "We surpass the encryption requirements of most businesses and organizations."
Sync is the latest feature added to powerful DocLanding ecosystem and enhances the simplicity of managing personal content in the cloud from any personal computer. DocLanding users can now add, delete or edit files no matter where they are working then easily sync them all with one click.
"You dont need to transfer any files manually," Campbell said. "Your documents with all your latest edits will sync between your desktop and cloud seamlessly."
DocLanding, which originally designed enterprise-level cloud-based document management systems, is now bringing safe and easy storage and sharing options to businesses, organizations and consumers who have a daily need to collaborate on projects and access documents, but don't have huge IT budgets. It is a game-changer for those who work in the legal, healthcare, insurance and financial industries, Campbell said.
"If you work in an industry that requires encrypted storage and a guarantee that your files will housed in the United States, there simply aren't a lot of options out there," Campbell said. "We want to be the leader in affordable, secure, cloud-based storage, but we also want to provide easy access and all the features customers demand."
When users download and install DocLanding Sync, changes made to documents locally can be synced to DocLanding as a new version of the document. All documents stored on DocLanding are searchable and can be shared, but Campbell notes that the user always controls the level of access others have.
"You have the option of allowing others to view your documents only, or to change them and share them with others," Campbell said.
DocLanding Sync makes it easy, for example, for an insurance office to share a document with an agent in the field and for the agent to revise the document and save it all in a secure environment. Medical records, legal documents and even financial records can be moved and shared quickly and safely.
Thirteen million files have been stored on DocLanding's US-based private cloud and the company's clients include thousands of independent users along with city and county governments, rail, medical and financial services firms. In November, DocLanding announced the release of its mobile app for the iPhone. Campbell said DocLanding will be launching a developers site with open API soon.
