Edamam, a technology company aiming to organize the worlds food knowledge, today announces key updates to its semantic-based recipe search app for iPhone and Android devices as well as a full compatibly app for 7-inch tablets.
Edamams unique search application allows users to quickly scan through an extensive database of more than 1.4 million recipes from over 500 sources. Search results are presented simply in a visually appealing interface and users can filter recipes by diet or health preferences. Users can also compare recipe options by ingredients and nutritional content as well as share recipes through Facebook, Twitter, mail and text with just a tap.
This update further establishes our status as the preferred app for busy individuals needing mobile access to the perfect recipe, said Victor Penev, Edamams Founder and CEO. For many individuals, mobile devices are the preferred method of finding what to cook. We aim to make the process easier and more enjoyable by leveraging heavy weight semantic-based technology delivered through an intuitive interface. In a broader sense, we strive to help people eat better by making food choices easier for them and bringing fun and excitement back to cooking a meal.
Our customers told us that they use 7 tablets the same way they do smart phones and would like the Edamam app running on their devices. We always listen to our customers. Next in line will be an app for the iPad and other 10 devices, continued Mr. Penev.
The updated iPhone application can be found on iTunes at edam.am/iPhone and the Android tablet and phone app is available on Google Play at edam.am/Android.
