Disc Makers To Debut Disc Duplicator for Mac OS XHigh-capacity MacElite offers unattended operation, asynchronous duplication
The MacElite is a high-capacity disc duplicator that offers unattended operation. It provides compatibility with Mac OS X and connects via a FireWire and USB cable for printing (via an integrated 2,400 DPI inkjet printer) and asynchronous duplication. The MacElite is available in several different models, ranging from the MacElite1, with a capacity of 125 discs, to the MacElite4, with a capacity of 200 discs. The systems include up to four Plextor CD-R drives or Pioneer A05 DVD-R mechanisms and can also be upgraded later with a additional drives or with a change in drive type.
Disc Makers will debut the Mac Elite later this month and will likely ship the devices by the end of summer. The CD-R duplicators run $3,990 (one drive, 125-disc capacity) to $6,690 (four drives, 200 disc capacity), while the DVD-R versions run $4,290 to $8,290.
