Digital Voodoo's D1 Desktop 64 and Iridium Cards Final Cut Pro 3 Compatible

Combination creates powerful desktop editing workstation for the Macintosh (January 08, 2002)
Digital Voodoo of South Melbourne, Australia, today announced the compatibility of Digital Voodoo's D1 Desktop 64 and Iridium series of capture and output cards with Apple's Final Cut Pro 3 (FCP3).

"Apple's Final Cut Pro is the leading desktop editing application," said Matt Dowling, Product Manager for Digital Voodoo products. "Version 3.0 is amazing. We're pleased that this new version offers the truly high-end capabilities that our users have long requested. Now they can work with uncompressed 10 bit standard definition footage right through to uncompressed 10 bit high definition footage and by utilizing Digital Voodoo cards with FCP 3.0, they have the absolute best quality in hardware and software."

Digital Voodoo manufactures the popular D1 Desktop 64 & Iridium series of standard & hi-def PCI QuickTime cards. These series offer powerful features for uncompressed editing with Apple's Final Cut Pro, design with Adobe After Effects, and broadcast paint with Adobe Photoshop. Digital Voodoo products have been used in commercials, television shows, music videos & feature films worldwide.

D1 Desktop 64 Series

The D1 Desktop 64 Series is comprised of the D1 Desktop 64, D1 Desktop 64 Lite and D1 Desktop 64AV uncompressed 10 bit SMPTE 259M SDI standard definition QuickTime video cards. The D1 Desktop 64 series are the only QuickTime cards on the Mac platform to include
full 10 bit capture to disk.

The D1 Desktop 64AV is totally optimized for editing with applications such as Apple's Final Cut Pro. This new model includes powerful audio features instead of the key output that the D1 Desktop 64 and D1 Desktop 64 Lite models introduce.

Also included on the D1 Desktop 64 and D1 Desktop 64 Lite models is a dual channel video output. Video can be selected to be "video and video", "video and alpha key", or full dual link 4:4:4:4 for amazing video quality.

When not being used for real-time video, all models of D1 Desktop 64 output as a second Mac monitor via the SDI output. This allows full frame live paint into the broadcast monitor with applications such as Adobe Photoshop. Working onto a broadcast monitor allows color, field
flicker and aliasing problems to be instantly seen and corrected, and the pixel aspect ratio problems are eliminated.

D1 Desktop 64AV, with audio features for edit, retails at US$3,495. D1 Desktop 64 retails at US$3,995, while the output only version, D1 Desktop 64 Lite, retails at a low US$1,495.

Iridium HD series

Extremely powerful and flexible, Iridium HD is compatible with all high definition design applications for the Macintosh. Users can work with uncompressed 10 bit 4:2:2:4 or 4:4:4:4 dual link video directly in YUV colorspace. Iridium HD retails for US$6995 and is available from all Digital Voodoo Master Re-Sellers. It is bundled with Digital Voodoošs Media Transfer application. Media Transfer permits the frame accurate capture and insertion from and to RS-422 controllable digital tape deck.
