Digital Voodoo Intros HD/SD Boards

New hardware to debut at NAB By Dave Nagel
Digital Voodoo has provided us with a sneak preview of two new hardware products that will debut next month. These include a high-definition edit/capture board and a multiple-format standard-def board. Both products are Macintosh-only and will debut at NAB 2002 in April in Las Vegas.

The high-definition PCI-based board is called the HD Fury. It features one HD SDI input, one HD SDI output, Genlock and SD SDI downconversion. It supports dual-stream HD and eight channels of AES/EBU audio at 24-bit/96 kHz, as well as true 10-bit I/O processing. The card is targeted toward HD editors, broadcast designers and compositors.

On the SD side, Digital Voodoo will also debut the Compound SD, an SDI I/O digital and analog processing board. Compound SD is a multiple-format PCI card for the Macintosh that supports 10-bit uncompressed SDI input and output, as well as component RGB, YUV, Y/C and NTSC and PAL composite. t supports multiple layers of video and graphics, as well as eight channels of AES/EBU digital audio.
