Digital Voodoo Discounts HD Board Upgrade

Cards offer 10-bit SDI capture and playback By Dave Nagel
Digital Voodoo has launched a new promotion on two of its video capture and editing boards for the Macintosh. The discount affects the D1 64RT real-time standard-definition board and the HD Fury high-definition board. According to Digital Voodoo, those who purchase a D1 64RT now through March 31 will be able to upgrade to the HD Fury board for a reduced price.

According to the terms of the deal, the D1 64RT sells for $3,495. Those who purchase and register the board can then upgrade to the HD Fury (when it becomes available) and keep the original D1 64RT for $8,500, for a total price of $11,995 for a real-time SD card and an HD card.

Both boards offer 10-bit QuickTime capture and playback and are compatible with Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X. The D1 64RT offers six channels of AES/EBU audio and real-time effects and transition. The HD Fury includes eight channels of AES/EBU audio and support for standard-def downconversion. It's expected to be available in March.
