Digital Fusion 3.1 Ships at Siggraph 2001(July 11, 2001)
latest edition to their award-winning image processing software, Digital Fusion 3.1. The full version upgrade hosts a series of developmental advancements:
Fully-Integrated 3D Particle System
At NAB, Digital Fusion 3.1's particle system received high praise from many 3D artists, with a strong focus on the set of integrated Fusion tools for 3D particles, rather than one tool with built-in controls. A particle-based flow instead of an image-based flow offers superior functionality. Particle tools, modifiers and connections can be connected, and then rendered, directly within Fusion.
New Color Correction Tool
This advanced color system includes all new control of hue, histograms, definable levels and blend of color correction.
Enhanced Vector Paint
Digital Fusion's paint system offers new brushes, apply modes and controls, and increased speed.
Text to Flash
3D Text+ tool now provides the ability to output web-ready text animation to Flash.
Tools can be expanded and collapsed, and cut, copied or pasted as an
entire group within the flow or within another flow.
Spread Sheet Editor for Editing Frames
Spline and keyframe information is presented in a spread sheet format
for ease of editing, such as copying and pasting.
New controls over the timeline to sort tools and keyframe information
into different user-definable sequences ease editing of large animation and flows.
Network Render Supervisor
Robust distributed network rendering supervisor monitors render nodes
and render machines, and relays progress as defined.
Enhanced Render Controls Interface
Definable render control of selected frames and different qualities and render settings, such as step rendering and reverse rendering.
Digital Fusion 3.1 supports Intel's full 64-bit Itanium and Windows XP. Developments continue to support Linux and, with the much-anticipated final release of OSX, to also bring the technology to the Mac.
Visit eyeon at Siggraph Booth 2001 to see how one of this summer's
hottest effects shots was put together with Digital Fusion. Chris Bond, Effects Supervisor at Frantic Films, will showcase the extreme flows created during the production of Swordfish to achieve an optimal opening sequence. Rony Soussan, Effects Supervisor at Hollywood's Base2, will highlight his recent work on major projects, such as Driven, Janet Jackson and more.
Digital Fusion 3.1 is a limited-time only free upgrade from 3.0, which
lists at $4,995. Availability is Siggraph 2001.
