Digital Element To Release Modelshop

Photoshop plugin displays 3D models By Dave Nagel
Digital Element has announced a new plugin for Adobe Photoshop called Modelshop. The plugin is designed to display 3D models in popular formats directly within Photoshop. It's expected to ship Nov. 26 for Mac OS X and Windows.

Modelshop allows users to add 3D models to Photoshop documents, rendering geometry and color along with lighting and shadows. It supports popular 3D formats, including LWO, OBJ, 3DS and DXF formats. The software also comes with 50 models from Digimation, including vehicles, architecture, civil engineering, furniture, landscaping, anatomy and computer peripherals, among others. The company says it also plans to release successive model content CDs.

The initial version of Modelshop supports Adobe Photoshop 6 and 7 running on Mac OS X and Windows. Digital Element says a free update that supports Photoshop CS will be available in early December. For more information, visit
