Digital Anarchy Ships Aurora Sky, Psunami for Final Cut Pro

Plugins generate sky and water effects By Dave Nagel
Digital Anarchy has released two of its plugins for Apple's Final Cut Pro editing system. The two plugins, Aurora Sky and Psunami, are designed to generate atmospheric and oceanic effects, respectively. Aurora Sky was previously available for Adobe After Effects, and Psunami was available for After Effects and Discreet Combustion.

Aurora Sky is designed to produce cloud and other vapor and sky effects. It has a built-in camera for creating fly-though effects and also allows for the use of texture maps and cloud shaping maps to create custom skyscapes. Grayscale movies, textures and images can be applied to the clouds to create words or shapes.

Psunami's 3D water effects are ray-traced for a photographic quality. But in addition to water effects, the plugin can also be used to create other 3D effects. Users can distort multiple images or texture the 3D mesh that Psunami creates. So it can be used to map logos to geometry, create landscapes or let a camera fly through geometry, for example.

Psunami and Aurora Sky operate in 3D space to allow users to move the camera, clouds and waves in all directions. They're available for an introductory price of $129 for Psunami and $99 for Aurora Sky. A bundle that includes both sells for $198. After the introductory pricing period, the regular price will be $149 for Psunami and $129 for Aurora Sky. For more information, visit http://www.digitalanarchy.com.
