Digital Anarchy Releases 16-Bit Gradient Filter for After Effects

Software also supports Final Cut Pro in 8 bits per channel By Dave Nagel
Digital Anarchy has released Gradient!, a plugin for Adobe After Effects for creating 16-bit, six-color gradients. The software operates in 16-bit mode in After Effects 5.0 and later and 8-bit mode in After Effects 4.x and Apple Final Cut Pro. The software is compatible with macintosh, Mac OS X and Windows systems.

Digital Anarchy says the plugin is more flexible and intuitive than the gradient filters that ship with After Effects. It offers transparency for all colors, direction dial, built-in transfer modes, four different gradient types and the ability to repeat the gradient. Almost all of the parameters of the gradients are keyframable, and Expressions can be used to control the animation of each color in the gradients.

Features include

  • Up to six colors
  • 16-bit per channel color depth
  • OS X-compatible
  • Transparency for each color
  • Direction dial
  • Ability to repeat the gradient infinitely
  • Built-in brightness and contrast
  • Built-in transfer modes
  • Four different gradient types: Linear, Circular, Wrapped, and Square
  • Radius control for the Circular and Square gradient types

Gradient! will be available for $39 until March 31, at which time it will go to it?s regular list price of $49. For more information or to download the demo, visit http://www.digitalanarchy.com.
