Digigram Showing New Products and OS X Sound Card Drivers at AESAmong offerings is EtherSound ES8in/8out for Ethernet audio bridges
The company is also unveiling the first off-the-shelf products featuring its EtherSound technology for high-quality, real-time audio distribution and will show its mpX Platform for IP streaming networks for live audio playback/recording and store-and-forward applications.
One of the new products is the EtherSound ES8in/8out, designed to provide Ethernet audio bridges. The ES8in inserts eight channels of analog audio into an Ethernet stream, while the ES8out allows playback of eight channels from the stream. Together, they allow the installation and distribution of up to 64 channels of audio between a virtually infinite number of devices using standard Ethernet switches and CAT5 cabling. The EtherSound protocol provides simple reconfiguration, and both devices allow management of GPIO and RS232 for bi-directional control.
The mpX Platform for development of enterprise audio network endpoints is debuting at the show. This hardware device targets in-house monitoring, logging, inter-site distribution, and IP broadcasting. Stand-alone mpX Platform devices may feature professional quality, multichannel audio processing and distribution, MPEG2/MPEG4 codecs and streaming, and local HD storage.
The VX442 multichannel sound card joins Digigrams VX series of desktop and laptop sound cards. With four/four balanced line inputs/outputs, independent AES/EBU input/output, 96 kHz 24-bit converters, and low latency architecture, this PCI bus card is designed for high-quality multitrack recording and audio production on both Windows and Mac operating systems.
Digigram is also releasing Mac OS X drivers for its VXpocket v2 and VXpocket 440 laptop sound cards, and its VX222 and VX442 desktop sound cards.
