Digidesign To Support Logic Platinum on Mac OS XNew Emagic tools to support Pro Tools; Digidesign releasing OS X Core Audio hardware support for native Emagic apps
Both Digidesign and Emagic say they want their systems to be compatible under mac OS X as soon as possible. "We continue to enjoy a close and productive relationship with Emagic," said Dave Lebolt, Digidesign's general manager, in a prepared statement, "and we will work closely with Emagic in the coming months to ensure the release of Logic support for Pro Tools on OS X as close to the release of Pro Tools 6.0 as possible."
The companies also say they plan to extend their relationship beyond the Logic TDM extension. They say Emagic will continue to release new products for Pro Tools users, including the Epic TDM collection of plugins and Pro Tools-compatible versions of the ES-2 virtual synthesizer, EVP88 vintage keyboard, EVB3 vintage organ and EVD6 vintage clavinet modules.
Digidesign also says that, shortly after the introduction of Pro Tools 6.0, it will release OS X Core Audio drivers that will enable Emagic support of Digidesign I/O hardware in native Emagic applications.
